Ulva (Enteromorpha) linza (Linnaeus) is a 30 centimetres (12 in) (sometimes 45 centimetres (18 in)) long green alga that grows in bright green clusters of tubes or flat strips. It has unbranched thalli that often have a frilled margin. Enteromorpha tolerates a wide range of salinities from 17 ppt. to 40 ppt. and is often found at the base of rivers and brackish water estuaries.
The raw algae Enteromorpha intestinalis was harvested from the Lebanese coast, washed with tap and deionized water in order to remove extra salts, sun dried, and grounded to particle size (0.5 mesh).
